Here’s How I’ll Support You
I view therapy as a sacred space where a person can feel safe to explore their thoughts, feelings, fears, hopes and dreams. Oftentimes, clients tell me they have so many questions that seem too big, too personal, too complicated or too embarrassing to share with people they know. They want privacy and someone to explore their personal mysteries where they’ll be heard, seen and safe to say anything without judgement or shame. This is my approach. It’s my intention to hold you in a space of acceptance, gentleness, light and love… so that you may see all of these very things for yourself.
A Typical Session…
Many people like to arrive a few minutes early, so they feel relaxed, having found a parking space and leaving enough time to pour themselves a cup of water or make a coffee, use the restroom or simply take a deep breath. When your time begins, I then invite you in. You have a couch or chair to sit on, a (faux) fireplace to look at, a soft blanket to use, chocolates to eat and permission to get comfy and take your shoes off.
For the next 50 minutes, you’re welcome to share whatever is on your mind and in your heart. I am notorious for asking questions that might allow us to dive a little deeper into the uniqueness of your life, your particular circumstances and the sacredness of you. Exercises and activities, such as art, music, writing or speaking prompts tend to be helpful. Many clients enjoy starting off with breathwork, a small meditation or even some intention setting together. By the time our session comes to its close, I will wrap up by reviewing our topics and find out what was most meaningful for them in our session together.

Mindfulness Approach
The saying stands… “Awareness is Key”. There is so much we are powerless over. But there are a few discerning things we DO have empowerment with. I’ve heard them mentioned as the “ABC’s” (which are our Attitude, Beliefs and Choices). I work with supporting you in cultivating a practice of paying attention to you, your thoughts, your beliefs, your motives that will allow you to experience more of what you prefer in your life, rather than what you fear.
Internal Family Systems Theory (IFS)
This genre of psychology honors the awareness that there is an entire system of various parts within us that are both vulnerable and protective and how we can use our conscious and higher self to support our psychological security.
Spiritual Psychology
Regular psychology takes into consideration a person’s thoughts, feelings and behavior. With Spiritual Psychology, a person’s soul essence is honored. With this approach, an individual’s inherent value, as well as their life’s meaning and purpose take on a beautiful depth and possibility for healing and awakening.
Psychodynamic Approach
Where we explore underlying, subconscious drives within you.
Narrative Therapy
Looking more closely at how you frame things in your mind and discovering if and how the stories you tell yourself reflects your external experience.
Solutions-Based Approach
I believe in identifying and addressing the problem. Where I am “solutions-based” is that I allow the problem to illuminate the healing preferred. And from here we focus our treatment.
Positive Psychology
A focus toward acknowledging your strengths and affirming the choices you’ve made. By recognizing how we’ve been loved and supported, cultivates a sense of gratitude, allowing the heart to open and now opportunities to enter your experience (through your perspective and manifested outward into your lived experience.
12-Step Recovery
I support many people who’ve found their way to addressing the impact addiction and alcoholism has had on them through a healing path of working a 12-Step Program.
