Therapy And Life Guidance

Have you ever heard the saying “History repeats itself”?

In my experience, once you have explored how you got where you are, you're in a much better place to make different choices, which will allow you to go where you haven’t been. Often therapy is helpful if you’ve found that “no matter where you go, there you are”. Or that feeling of insanity when you do the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result.”

I would say that I am a therapeutic coach, which is a VERY good thing.

I can offer the skills and expertise needed to support you on a deeper level with my years of clinical practice, along with the variety of tips, tools, techniques and processes that I’ve learned in a wide span of areas that will support you as you grow.

Traditionally, “therapy” focuses on understanding thoughts, moods and behaviors, whereas “coaching” usually involves motivation, confidence building and goal setting. Therapy is said to be more oriented in healing and resolving past hurts, disappointments mostly regarding relationships. And coaching tends to address and encourage change for current and future aspirations.

Truly, the largest difference between working with me as a therapist or a coach is if your plan is to submit your fees through your insurance, which would require our work to be affiliated with your mental health records and history. Many people prefer to pay our of pocket, as it allows any of what we work on together remain private in all matters.

On the topic of privacy, one of the things I value about my education, training and clinical background in the field of psychotherapy, is the emphasis that is placed on a client’s confidentiality. Your work is between you and me. Honoring this, I’ve found allows my clients to feel safe to share freely.
