Day #4 Self Care Challenge

Good Evening,

We did it... completion of Day 4 of our “shelter in place”. I wish I could say I knew how many days we have left, but I know that no one does.

In the meantime, as much as it’s tempting to see the inconvenience, the fear and the pain of what I don’t get to have right now, there’s also the opportunity to see what I do. I've been challenged to answer this question for myself.

“This (shelter in place experience) is good for because...”

⭐️ I’ve started FaceTiming with my parents, siblings, nieces and nephews way more than ever before

⭐️ I’m learning that without external calendar events, I’m more undisciplined than I thought.

⭐️ I’m slowly learning how to take care of my self, my day, my schedule and responsibilities with a little more agency and care.

⭐️ I have begun to recognize that the value of human touch and a hug is something that is a treasure and not what I hope to ever take for granted again.

⭐️ Stepping outside for a walk is now a highlight of the day. I am enjoying more neighbors waving, smiling, and saying hi than I ever have.

The excerpt below has inspired me to be curious as to what this experience will continue to teach me.
